Hematology is a therapeutic area that studies blood, blood-forming organs and blood diseases. Hematologic diseases may be concealed by various symptoms, such as: skin pallor, face redness unexplainable bruises on the body, appearance or increase of formations on the neck, in axillary and inguinal areas, increased fatigue upon small physical load, progressive weakness, weight loss, change in blood cell composition. These cases require consultation from a hematologist, in addition to other specialists. The hematologist carries out diagnostics and treatment of the following diseases:

  • anemia of various genesis

(including  iron deficiency, В12- and folic deficiency anemia, hemolytic anemia)

  • erythrocytosis;
  • thrombocytosis;
  • thrombocytopenia of various genesis.

The hematologist also carries out diagnostics of acute and chronic leukemia and myeloproliferative diseases, makes an assessment and interprets changes in the blood count (qualitative and quantitative).
